I am a freelance translator and enjoy my freelance lifestyle very much, because despite all its drawbacks, freelancing gives considerable benefits.

 

I translate in any combination of languages: Georgian, English and Russian. I do various private and contract-based translations and proofreading (technical, scientific, medical, biophysical, biochemical and biological articles, legal documents, finances, agriculture, military, art, literature, various programs and reports, contracts, certificates and diplomas, medical and pharmaceutical patents, medical equipment, technical specifications, copyrights, trademarks, IT, software localization, correspondences, etc.).

 

I work as a freelance translator for some interpreter’s offices in Tbilisi, Georgia, and

translators’ agencies all over the world.

 

I am a scientist, biophysicist. I carry out scientific research in molecular biology, genetics, cancer research, biotechnology, biochemistry and biophysics at Department of Biological Systems, E. Andronikashvili Institute of Physics in Georgia.

 

I have good knowledge of various computer programs, software localization, web designing, etc. I am fully equipped with latest IT requirement and have whole time access to the internet/email during work hours through dedicated lines and DSL at home, available at weekends as well.

 

I am equipped with a PC Pentium IV, scanner, printer, digital camera.

I use following software: Windows XP, Office 2003 (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher, FrontPage), Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (Professional), Adobe PhotoShop CS2, Lingvo 11, Localization Studio, PageMaker, QuarkXPress 5.0, Corel Graphic Suite, Macromedia, etc. and CAT tools: SDL TRADOS, SDLX, PASSOLO.

 

I hold following valid degrees:

  • Certified Translator, Postgraduate Courses of Simultaneous Interpreting and Translation, I. Chavchavadze Tbilisi State University of Western Languages and Cultures

  • PhD degree in molecular biology, Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology, Russian Academy of science, Moscow 

  • MA degree in biophysics, physics, I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia

  • Certificate of graduation from 7-year musical school in Tbilisi, Georgia.
